Delaware business licenses, by activity and by city
Type a business name or a license number. 68,045 current licenses in the Division of Revenue file of October 1, 2026.
Hiring a contractor or opening an account? A dated license report ($19) — or a whole list checked.
What this is
Anyone doing business in Delaware needs a license from the Division of Revenue, whatever the state the business is in. The Division publishes the list of current licenses as one file. This site sorts it the way the file is not sorted: by business activity, by city, by licenses started during the year, and by businesses located outside Delaware.
Who uses it
- Owners and general contractors — is this contractor licensed in Delaware, and until when?
- Suppliers and lenders — the businesses of one activity, in one city.
- Businesses themselves — your own record, and its end date.
What it is not
Not the Division of Revenue, and not the license. This is not the Division of Corporations: a company formed in Delaware without doing business there has no license and is not here. The file lists current licenses only — a business licensed after October 1, 2026 is missing.
